The fund, formerly known as BDO Investment Fund Pty Ltd, was registered by the PDF Registration Board as a complying PDF on 23 August 2000 . PDFs are regulated by the Pooled Development Funds Act 1992 and are established to encourage investment in the small to medium-size sector. In return for the risks associated with making investments in this important sector, the Australian Government has provided significant taxation concessions. Restrictions apply to the types of investments that can be made through the PDF and the activities of the investee companies.
